We Need Everyone to Help:

 

Remember the saying, "many hands make light work"? Well, the same thing is true for the Church.  The church cannot function without its members being actively involved in doing the ministry. God shows us in the Bible how he wants the church to function. One of the best analogies is comparing the church to a human body. We all have a function and it takes everyone doing their part to make the church perform at its best. As in the body, if one part stops working, the whole body suffers; so does the church.

God not only wants our money to be used to reach others, he wants us. Being part of a church is relational and we need to spend time doing the ministry not cheering from the side lines on Sunday morning.

 

Tithing Your Time:

 

Have you ever considered tithing of your time? Giving back to God a percentage of the gift of life and health we so easily take for granted? What if everyone gave back just 5 percent of their work week for doing ministry? If you assume a 40 hour work week per member, then every member would be involved two hours per week.  For every 100 members we would have 200 hours per week to reach others for Christ. Think of how much we could accomplish if this happened.

 

God's Blessings:

 

Another reason to be involved is for the blessings you will receive. We have seen it over and over with those that get connected in their area of passion using their gifts. They look forward to opportunities to serve, are encouraged by working alongside fellow believers and are energized by seeing what God is doing in the ministry.
